Genuine true-blue moments inspired by you & your day

My documentary style approach to weddings is what keeps these images nostalgic, timeless and artistic all at once. The knowledge of when to expect the important shots while also leaving room to see the unexpected “movie-magic” moments that happened solely because of you. My combination of multiple film & digital mediums (prepare to see 5+ cameras on me all day & pockets full of film) come together to paint a creative, telling and romanticized vision for your photographs.

Things look best when you are comfortable to be yourselves and that’s why one of my ultimate goals is to create that calm & familiar energy so that you can trust me to document the day while you can be fully immersed in the moments as they unfold. I like to assimilate into your wedding as if I was a trusted friend.

Finding a photographer who is the best fit is crucial if you care about the feeling your photos will emit. I am the perfect match for couples who prioritize authentic emotions, artistic portraits of the people you love, thoughtful details captured in a unique way & finally but MOST importantly being present and understanding your day is uniquely yours and should be photographed that way.

FAQs

  • My business has really come from a place of simply loving photography my whole life. I have been carrying around a camera with me everywhere since I was 12. I shoot every day whether that be portraits of my people, beach walks with my Australian shepherd Millie, oceanscapes or sunrises.

I included a section of “Personal Work” to highlight that this is truly a passion for me and every image I make comes with real excitement & care.

  • Shooting a wedding is a push and pull of observing and documenting natural moments and subtle direction such as where the best light is or slight movement adjustments during a portrait. Truthfully I am at my best when I am trusted like a friend and can photograph what unfolds. I always like to hear what is important to you whether that be certain people, traditions, or special details that I can keep in my mind while also capturing things you “didn’t know I was even there” for or the “how did she get that??” moments.

  • Yes, almost all of the work in my portfolios is film! I find it to be the most magical and crucial part of my process. During a wedding day I have 2 digital cameras and around 5 film cameras in my kit and constantly switch back and forth. Shooting film helps me make sure I am creating an artistic and heirloom image every time. The digital is also important as you can photograph something as many times and as quickly as you want which is important during those quick moments.

  • I ABSOLUTELY do! While I am based on Martha’s Vineyard I am a quick ride away from Logan Airport and truly love the destination weddings I have done. They give me so much inspiration & spark creativity the whole day as besides my research beforehand of venues/locations it is always a new space for me to shoot in.

  • First steps are for you to fill out my Wedding Questionnaire or contact me via my email which is isabellachimes@gmail.com. There you will tell me about your day, locations, other vendors you have hired such as a wedding planner, and your overall vision/vibe for the day and any design boards you have!

Then we can plan a time to connect and get to know each other. Finally discussing your budget and quotes that fit within that!

  • After photographing weddings the past 6 years I have seen and learned all the facets of a wedding day. Every day can be so different and I always feel ready to pivot and not let it pause me. I first started off as most do by being a second shooter but I luckily have worked with some of the most amazing photographers such as Elizabeth Cecil, Lucy Cuneo, Albany Katz, Kayla Snell, Larisa Stinga, Arletta Charter. I learned something special and important from each one of these women and bring it with me to each wedding.

  • Part of me being your photographer comes with all the information and suggestions I have picked up along the way! Things such as a calm + clean getting ready space, having a first look, or simply the reassurance that you should do things the way YOU want to and dozens more. I am always here to help!

I provide a custom made Wedding Photography Guide filled with all helpful FAQs, information on how I work and tips on how to set the wedding up for successful photos.
